Re: camera problems

Hi etxe, One thing I always do that saves me confusing cameras in animation is I name one camera 'animations' and make sure that that's the camera I view through whenever setting up the animations. Otherwise it's very easy to set up through one camera and animate with another, hence you think it's r...

Re: Loading time of 11 minutes

That refers on many factors, one depends on the operating system itself and the number of applications that read/write (Disk Utilization) at the same time. For faster read/write operations, users often go to replace their mechanical hard disk drives (HDD) with solid state drives (SSD) or even NVMe ...

Re: Creating a WebGL VR from Template

Perhaps simlab could prepare a 'benchmark' file to aid diagnostics of problems - perhaps their Kitchen? Then we could download and benchmark PC versus Mac and see if it's an issue with the Mac version. How large is your classroom file Tessla?

Re: Creating a WebGL VR from Template

Hi Tessla, did you resolve your render times? I'm in work today and thought I'd do a test 360 over lunch break, which I ran @ 8000x4000 pixels - 250 spp. I started it at 12:55pm and it took 43 minutes to run. Thistle_Rose_583.jpg Screenshots here of the settings I used: render_settings1.JPG render_s...

Re: Internal Lighting... Soooo hard to get right!!

Yes jsaid is right, I've used our standard PC template before now, but I know nothing about the Mac templates which is what Tessla was struggling to find. Are they different?

Re: Internal Lighting... Soooo hard to get right!!

Hi Tessla, I had to ask Simlab for the template, then I seem to remember I adjusted it for my own purposes. There's a link to it in the v9 beta http://www.simlabforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=10741&start=20#p19522 I'm back in work Wednesday, so I'll see if I can upload my 360 grid then. It d...

Re: Vehicle along leafy street

Hi Jsaid - thank you for the comments, to me the thing that gave it away as a rendering was the shadows on the leaves, which could be photoshopped I guess, but I wanted to show the image as it comes straight out of Simlab.

Re: Internal Lighting... Soooo hard to get right!!

Hi Tessla, I've rendered scenes using the multiple 360 VR cameras before without any difficulty - but on a PC. Times to render were no different to those rendering a static image of similar resolution and scale. Have you tried deliberately setting the res low as a functionality test, e.g try renderi...

Re: Copy & Paste in SimLab?

I have a folder set up in my 3D objects where I can drag objects from one file - think of it as using a temp cache directory - then I open the file I want to insert into and simply drag it from the 3D objects temp cache directory into the new model.

Re: Does Simlab have a landscape modifying option?

Although there's no CAD features as such, there is a scale feature, so if all you wanted to do was say make a mountain higher, you can do this with the 'Transform' tab of an object. I'm no architect, but attached is pictures of a quick little hill I contoured up and then used the transform just to s...
