Re: VR package file size for mobiles and tablets

I know it's not the main item on this topic - but Simlab mentioned that webGL files won't open locally and he's right if you just try to open them in a browser window. There are two ways round this if you want to test your webGL files without having to load them up, one is to run Chrome in Developer...

Re: Simlab 10 Update cycle and extend support option

The above posts prove the point exactly. If you 'choose' to leave Simlab, you can continue to work at whatever version you currently have without spending any more money. 'Choose' to leave the subscription based software and you can kiss goodbye to your models and assets that you've spent man hours ...

Re: Manually download the Materials Library...???

Cyana - yours is probably the best option - I didn't do this as I didn't want my V10 Beta to overwrite any of my V9 assets as I only had access to V10 Beta for about a week.

Re: Manually download the Materials Library...???

Hi Tessla, When I was running the v10 Beta on Windows, I couldn't download the assets either, so I copied my v9 Data folder complete to my V10 Beta install. The materials worked this way after a restart that obviously rebuilt the database. I had a lot of my own materials and HDR's and I didn't want ...

Re: Simlab 10 Update cycle and extend support option

I fully agree with and support the Simlab model of purchasing a perpetual licence and then either paying for an upgrade or maintenance plan. The main reason I opted for Simlab Composer was because of the perpetual licence and because it was locally installed. I don't want to be held ransom by a perp...

Re: HELP!! Animation Rendering time

Hi Dennio, My machine is a lower spec than yours (i5x3.2ghz, 32gb 64 bit, 2gb Quadro K620) and it runs these large files in Simlab no problem. I did a quick benchmark for you with 1 file of 1.2gb - probably around 100 or so materials and half a dozen decals. Roughly speaking my 'Prepare for Render' ...

Re: SimLab Composer 10 Closed beta

Hi Simlab,

Is there a particular format or information you want with feedback sent through to support@simlab? Emailing video clips get very large if we use this to highlight issues.

Re: Xray rendering

One thing you can do which I've done before for this in Simlab is create a material of transparent mesh. This isn't quite xray, but is does let you define an external shape in a lined transparent way.
