Re: Is there any way to trigger a video with SimLab Composer?

Thank you so much for responding. I was wondering if anyone would have a response. This is most helpful. I see that you can write your own script and attach it to an object. I assume this is javascript? This may be exactly what I need. I'll look into this further myself.

Re: Free 3D assets

These are wonderful additions. Your artists did a terrific job on the trees as low polygon objects that look great. Superb work on the ceramics too. I've been so impressed with your commitment to improving Composer.

Is there any way to trigger a video with SimLab Composer?

I have come to realize that the presentations we create with SimLab Composer would massively more useful for us and our clients if we could simply have some sort of trigger for video clips. Is there any possible way to do this with any of the configurations of the product available now? If not, I st...

Re: Question Regarding re-linking textures ...

Hmmmm ... doesn't seem to be working. I suppose I may have the wrong texture names ... Is there a way to see what textures it is looking for? One nice thing about 3ds Max and other 3D packages is that you can see what the name of the missing material is and the directory it was in when the file was ...

Question Regarding re-linking textures ...

When I originally began working with Simlab Composer I did not understand that I needed to use the "packing" option to save my scene with all materials in order to move it to a new machine. At the time, I built some complex scenes and then archived my work by using "save as" to save a copy of the .s...

Re: Units

I do agree with this suggestion. I also know that there are always many desired features and additions so that you can't do everything. However, this really is a fundamental element and one that I would assume could be added fairly easily. In any event, I'm a huge fan of what you've done and continu...

3ds Max Render to Texture (texture baking) question

Hello: We use 3ds Max as our primary modeling tool and, for the most part, we are happy with how models exported as fbx files come into SimLab Composer. Our main use of Composer is to create files that may be viewed and navigated in real time. Thus, we really appreciate that SimLab includes texture ...

Re: Point Cloud Format??

We work with point clouds every day in addition to a wide variety of 3D applications. For viewing, measuring and working with point clouds we work with applications such as Autodesk Recap Pro, Arena 4D or FARO Zone3D. Both of the latter permit realtime viewing with VR headsets. A couple months ago I...

Question regarding IES lights

Am I correct in assuming that the IES lights in Composer are highly dependent upon scale to behave properly? In other words, must I be careful that my model in SimLab Composer is close to real world scaling if I am going to be using IES lights?
