Image transparency

Postby richjacob » Wed Sep 07, 2016 12:43 pm

Hi All..

I am fairly new to simlab pdf exporter and I'm trying to export a simple plane from 3ds max with an image map applied as material with an alpha map to create the transparent portions of the logo . When I export to pdf from MAX I don't get the transparency, just the diffuse map. Ive read a few posts on here about it but none of the solutions are working for me.

Im basically creating a simple plane, then applying diffuse map to a standard max material, then im applying my alpha map to the opacity slot on the standard material.. All looks good in MAX , but after export to 3d pdf , im only seeing the diffuse map without the transparent portions.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

Can you try to mix the diffuse with the alpha information and save the result as a PNG image that is applied as diffuse.
this should solve the issue.
