Exporting colours

Post by markking05 » Mon May 24, 2010 4:54 pm

Hi,

I'm trying to export a model from 3DS Max Design 2010 to 3D PDF but whatever type of material I assign to the geometry it never appears in the 3D PDF.

Is there a tickbox I'm not seeing, or do I need to use a special type of material.

Thanks.

Are you assigning Vray materials or usual 3DS materials, the plugin only supports 3DS materials.

Hi markking05,

The 3D PDF plugin utilizes the OBJ exporter in 3DS Max, so in the OBJ export options dialog make sure both [Export materials] and [Create mat-Library] are both checked.

The OBJ export options can be accessed through 3DSmax main menu ( or file menu ) -> [ Export ], and then selecting obj for the export type and pressing the save button.

let me know if that solved your problem

Thanks,
