Alpha & Strangth Values

This is of course a trifle. I have long been accustomed to it. But I believe that this is not correct and may be the cause of misunderstandings.

If I change the glass material to another(plastic, metal etc...), the alpha value becomes 0,74. What is the point?

It's not entirely clear why the Rounghness-->Strangth value in the metal material is set by default to 50.
This slider is below the scrollbar. Therefore, it is not immediately clear what is happening. I repeat, I have long been accustomed to it. But it's not clear what is the goal?
