Re: SimLab Composer 9 preview
Nice to know, but I sure hope some of the V8 shortfalls have been added.. Having the ability to hide group parts to use an Action to make visible would be very very handy for VRs..

SimLab VR Event system.
This new addition to SimLab Composer 9 makes it easy to create better training experiences.
Allows location based triggers (like automatic doors opening)
It also gives VR experience designer ability to control the state of the experiment (changing actions on objects when needed)
This system was created to be powerful and easy to master. The following VR experience was created in a very short time.

360 Grid
360/Panorama is an image rendered in a special way that makes it ready to be shared on facebook, a webpage, a mobile, or a desktop viewer.
Viewer of the 360 image gets the feeling of being located at the center of the image, with the ability to rotate her/his head to get the view in all possible directions, sample 360 images can be found here.
360 images makes it possible to get great view of the scene even on low end devices.
The problem with 360 images is that it does not allow you to move in the space, or to view the back of an object, you can only view the object from the perspective of the used camera.
The new 360 Grid technology from SimLab makes it possible to easily generate and render a set of multiple 360 cameras, it allows you to move in the scene and to view objects from different sides.
360 grid sample can be found in the following link

Re: SimLab Composer 9 preview
A big restriction in capturing a 360 image the conventual way and then creating a VR Tour is the fact that the view is from the centre of the sphere.. I was even talking to some senior students today about that restriction. This Grid Technology is a wonderful way to view more of the 3D space from different locations.. I remember seeing a VR Tour a long time ago that was based on similar technology, but I do not know how it was done. Many people asked on the Kolor forum how it was made.. Well.. here is is now.. Well done Simlab...
