Touch an object in VR to trigger animation

Postby Ryder » Sat Jul 14, 2018 8:13 am

Hi all,

How does one generally go about touching an object with a VR controller... to cause an animation to launch?

Example... touch a drawer to have it open...

Thank you!

You simply animate the features using the animation timeline, and then select all the frames to create an Action.. Than add that object into the VR..

My question fully presupposed that the animation exists... so I don't need to know how to make an animation.

My question is how to LAUNCH the animation based on controller touch.

That is the missing part.

Thank you

...And the answer is within the text...

.."then select all the frames to create an Action.. Than add that object into the VR.." Save the animated object into your Object Library.. Then you can use it anytime.. When you are in VR mode, mouse over the Animated object to see the Yellow Lines and it will work when you click on it.. ;)

the objects are not the same.

Object A has the animation... Object B is the Touch Control for the animation (like an elevator button).

I hope this is a better description.

Thank you

Oh I see... I have not done that yet. I will do a test one.. It should just be a matter of adding an action to the button... There is a tutorial on that I think..
