Is there any way to trigger a video with SimLab Composer?

Post by vislaw » Wed May 22, 2019 2:51 pm

I have come to realize that the presentations we create with SimLab Composer would massively more useful for us and our clients if we could simply have some sort of trigger for video clips. Is there any possible way to do this with any of the configurations of the product available now? If not, I strongly urge SimLab to consider this feature as it would open up so many practical possibilities. Think about how useful this would be for architectural work, product design or training!

It could be accomplished by a link to an external player or by embedding a player within the program. We already use SimLab Composer regularly, but I assure you it would become one of our most popular applications if it had this simple feature.

Hi.. You can already do this.. In many ways.. Just add a URL to any object. Try using a URL to open a FloatBox or Shadowbox etc.. You can add any media into a Box but you are only calling in a Box using a URL.. You can do this using a WebGL or a 3D PDF .. I think a VR too.. But I need to test tha, I cannot remember....

Thank you so much for responding. I was wondering if anyone would have a response. This is most helpful. I see that you can write your own script and attach it to an object. I assume this is javascript? This may be exactly what I need. I'll look into this further myself.
