Feature Preview for SimLab Composer 2.2 (Part 7)

Postby SimLab » Sun Aug 22, 2010 2:32 pm

SimLab Composer 2.0 introduced automatic camera mode in 3D PDF, in this mode the 3D PDF file can serve as a 3D presentation where the camera automatically switches from one view to another.

Users requested to have control over this mode and this is what we present in SimLab Composer 2.2, in this release the user will be able to set the pause duration, the camera effect duration, and the camera effects to be used (zoom, roll, or a combination of the two).

When the 3D PDF file is opened the camera will stand still for the pause duration and then start doing the effect(s) for the effect duration, after that it will switch to the next view.

By determining those factors the 3D PDF file creator is now able to create the presentation suitable for her/his specific model.

Great feature. Can you post a PDF with this implemented?

Is there a minimum reader level for the camera animation? I use Acrobat 3d v.8 and there was no animation of the camera, just a pause button that did not do anything but the fwd/bck buttons toggled through the views.

Yes, You will need Acrobat version 9 to get the camera animation.

The free acrobat reader is all what you will need, so maybe it is time to upgrade your acrobat reader.
