Help wanted on rendering Parallel view

Post by Grossy » Fri Sep 27, 2013 9:19 am

After the render command Simlab automaticaly jumps from parallel into perspective projection.
Is there a setting somewhere, that I'm missing?

No there is not, currently parallel view is not supported in rendering, Parallel views are not natural and that is why we did not focus on supporting them in rendering, which is used to generate realistic views of the model.

We had requests from other users to be able to rended in parallel view, we will surly consider this in the future.

Aaah this is really sad, because I really need parallel view renders for some tools, really sad this isn't supported, is there a way to get close to parallel view using camera's ?

thanks, Hans

Agreed, I would like have to have a choice to render parallel views.

I am sorry this is not supported.

The closest you can get is by changing FOV, click CTRL + Right mouse button, you can get a view very close to parallel view.

Thanks, but I just tried this, but ctrl + right click doesn't do anything here, the only way to get close for me is to zoom out with mouse wheel and then change the Field of view value to a very small value.

Drag the mouse at the same time as CTRL + Right Click to change the FOV.

That's a good work around, have changed focal length in other software without Parallel projection.

Does changing FOV value do basically the same thing as changing the focal length?
