Interactive walk through

Postby dantas » Wed Nov 16, 2011 2:44 am

Hi there,

Would anyone know how to, or if possible, to produce an interactive walk through along the lines of Google maps street view, using rendered images, would there be any additional software I would need?

Thanks in advance.

Burr dude, how you doing! I don't know how many frames, I've just started researching the possibility to do an interactive walk through a factory, so click a spot move to that position and have a 360°view. I could do a 3d PDF but I'm afraid someone without 3d experience would lose them selves.
Any ideas?

Cheers

Thanks Edmund, very close but they are predetermined scene states, I would like the user to have control in where they would like to look, like Google maps street view.

Hi Danny,
I think the game engine is the only way to get what you are looking for..You could set up a bunch of views to jump to, but there would be no constaints to where you can go, like google maps keeps you on the road, the users could just walk through the walls and get lost. Not sure if you want to learn unity though, unless you have a large, long running need to do these sorts of things.

Hi Burr, it looks like a gaming engine would be the way to go, as for learning unity....well..... the project is now looking more distant as the more I look for a solution, I might shelve this for a while until something pops up, thanks for the suggestions guy's.

Cheers
