SolidWorks importer problem

Postby bertjeSL » Thu Apr 02, 2015 12:48 pm

I have a problem rendering imported . SLDPRT files. Surfaces with holes cut out are triangulated in SketchUp; this isn't a problem when rendering with standard materials applied, however with metal material applied random faces don't render correctly. (see attached images) What to do?? Flipping the faces doesn't solve the problem.
Help much appreciated.

This is an issue for VRAY as the geometry is coming correctly and it works on some materials but not on others.

You may want to test using SimLab Composer for rendering, you will not be disappointed.

Thnx SimLab,
Not completely true; the importer breaks up the simple surface in multiple triangulated faces.
Some Vray materials cannot deal with these complicated faces.
I will give Composer a try.

If you needed any help in composer please let us know.

Actually the plugin does not tessellate the geometry, it extracts the tessellation already create by SolidWorks
