How do I specify the starting position in a Mechanical VR model?

I have also watched the videos in the Mechanical VR series and do not understand what they did differently so that when they launch the Desktop Viewer, their model shows up with its rendered properties. How is that done or maybe I should say what am I doing wrong because I do not see my model with its render materials?

Here are 3 screen shots...........

I made absolutely no changes between the images. First I rendered the model, then I generated a WebGL page and then I launched the Desktop Viewer.

Decided to share the SKP file as well:
Mammoth Blower-Dryer.skp
(4.22 MiB) Downloaded 33 times

I was going to add the SIM file but it is 19,336KB so I cannot upload it.

I have made some progress with the Mechanical VR so that I am getting MUCH more acceptable appearance of my model in the Desktop Viewer. However, I still have not figured out how to control the starting position with the Mechanical version. Can someone give me some hints? :?

Right now I am using the HDR mode for lighting. I am going to try Sun just to learn how to control the lighting a little better.

Did some more exploring using the Sun environment and for something mechanical it looks like I have better control of the environment using HDR instead of the Sun. Sun looked OK except I do not want to see the clouds in the background. :)

If you are using HDR, try to reduce brightness to 1 when using it with VR

Yep, I have played around with that a lot today and that was one of the things I learned.

Biggest problem right now is trying to define the starting position. I do not like the current starting position and have not figured out to to adjust/control it.
