Re: Solidworks appearances not importing Composer v10.14

SolidWorks may put material information on assembly level, part level or face level. Those should be handled, if you have a model not working please send it to support@simlab-soft.com they should check it for you. Thanks, I'll send the part via email. There is something strange happening, I opened ...

Solidworks appearances not importing Composer v10.14

I'm having an issue where native Solidworks-files with different materials (appearances) don't retain when importing into Composer, instead the model is a single color. Works correctly when importing a step-file. Am I doing something wrong? This worked just fine on Composer 6 that I used previously....

HDR/Background Properties

The properties window for HDR and Background needs a bit of a revamp. First of all the HDR brightness value tops off at 20, this isn't enough for some HDR's. In my older Composer version the max limit was higher I think, does it need a max value at all? In the Background tab, when using a spherical ...

Thank you for pointing that we will check it.

You can use normal maps it should give you better effect than bump maps.
Thanks, I often use both bump and normal together on the same material with different maps.

BUG: Bump map not working on new renderer (Composer 10.9)

Just updated to Composer 10 and noticed bump maps aren't showing on my materials! Switched to the old cpu renderer and it's working again, see the attached pic.

Triplanar texture mapping

Would it be possible to get triplanar mapping to Composer? It would be a nice addition to cad-users that don't have access to uv-unwrapping and are currently just using plane, box, sphere or cylinder texture mapping. Here's a link to those not familiar to what triplanar mapping is: https://www.marti...

Re: Use new simlab render

I haven't been up to date on the progress of Composer's render engine lately, I'm testing out Composer 9 currently. What are the differences between the new renderer vs. the old? Any documentation on this? The main thing I can see is the grid pattern visible in the render instead of the normal noise...

How do you made the sea ?

Do you know this free one ?

Thanks for the link! The sea consists of square wave surface I found somewhere in the internet that I multiplied to cover the whole scene + the material has a normal map with smaller ripples on it.
