Re: Diffuse Texture for SSS Material
Hi Hornpipe, There is a reason the material is called thinsubsurface and not subsurface scattering :) thinSS is an approximation that is useful and efficient for thin scattering materials like light covers, leaves, paper, etc. We do not support SSS since, so far, we did not perceive great interest i...

Re: Any object turned into light...
Although no. I'm wrong. There is something there. ;) Just have to wait long and not very convincing. Same scene, same HDR. Left - not SL, right - SL ior.jpg Hi Hornpipe this is a photo of glass: https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1SfiqIXXXXXcuXFXXq6xXFXXXc/11cm-crystal-font-b-ball-b-font-font-b-clear-b-...

Re: Query for materials for jewelry
Have you tried with proper IOR for diamond?
glass IOR = 1.5, while diamond IOR = 2.42, there is a big difference.
check, for example: https://pixelandpoly.com/ior.html
Thanks,
Ihab

Re: Manson Engine
If the animation was rendered, and placed on one row, the row above or below should have the same animation but captured at a different angle.. wouldn't this be an overkill? assuming you are rendering a 4x3 array, it means that you are rendering the animation 12 times, and when you view it, you are...

Re: Manson Engine
It seems to me that KeyShot sometimes render not bad too. ;) I don't think the summary above gives justice to composer: 3D PDF, texture baking, solid VR route, more realistic renders, and more advanced interiors were simply neglected. I don't want to start a SW war here, but your comparison just as...

Can you explain the array rendering option a bit more? not sure I follow this request.

Re: Manson Engine
Seems you are setting roughness to a very small value on the metallic parts. If that is the case, can you set it to zero as well and try again? If the new settings eliminate the white spots, you can render your movie with zero roughness, and we will look into providing a better solution from our sid...
