Re: Ready for SimLab Composer 9?

Simlab 9 only ships with the core program, the assets (materials, library, hdrs etc) all have to be downloaded separately.

Re: Viewport rotation mode

You can alter this per camera, but I can't see a way to alter it as a default. If you 'create' a camera and open the camera dialogue box you'll see the AH gimball in the camera object tab.

Re: Point Cloud Format??

https://www.3dflow.net/3df-zephyr-free / Photogrammetry for everyone! 8-) 50 photos maximum for a project! :geek: I'd agree this is superb software for 3D photogrammetry and very quick to get acceptable results with. I bought the lite version and have scanned several interiors of our products with ...

Re: Perspective Match

Hmmm. hadn't heard anything from Simlab yet - guess they're busy with their new release, so decided to try something. I created a 'Perspective room' and applied a material with an opacity mask to produce a visible grid in the rendering window, net result I can adjust the camera to the backplate and ...

Re: SimLab Composer 9 beta

Very minor error here, 'Virtual' is spelt incorrectly in one of the splash screens - screen grab below. Sorry to be a little anal :)

Re: depth of field

Hi bombas, It does work - but the numbers are not very intuitive. What I would really like to see is 35mm camera equivalents for things like focal length and aperture size, e.g. 28mm (on angle of view) and f11 (on depth of field aperture size). Then you could match the depth of field data to the bac...

Camera perspective and angle

I have to say that Simlab is a terrific rendering and VR tool, but there are a couple of missing features that are present in other competitors software that I believe would help allow users to get photorealistic renders. To me the most blatant ommision is camera perspective. Whenever you render wit...

Re: SimLab Composer 9 beta

@Pocc, We really appreciate your feedback. But there is one more thing to do, if there is a chance to provide us with the file that causes you the problem (just if you can). Because it depends on the scene itself (e.g. Number of textures, etc.) Best regards PM'd you a link to the zipped file Jsaid

Re: SimLab Composer 9 beta

Of course Jsaid,

Windows 10 64 bit, i5-4460, 32gb ram, nvidia Quadro K620, 256gb SSd. If you want more info I can PM you the DXdiag file.

I watched it rendering yesterday, each frame of a 720x480 animation took up an extra 40mb of committed memory until it ran out of memory and crashed.

Re: SimLab Composer 9 beta

Working through the animator, it would appear that there is a memory release issue as the memory required increases as the number of frames rendered increases. If I render an animation, I will run out of memory at a certain number of frames (usually around 300 regardless of render dimensions). As ef...
