Render in Clay Mode

Post by Tessla » Sun Sep 20, 2020 12:27 pm

Hi Simlab.. When I set the render setting to render to Clay Mode, the only part renders in Clay is the floor, and that is only in Real-Time.. The render output takes no notice of the Clay Mode, yet Clay Mode is in Output Settings..

Did we miss something ....??

I tested clay on Windows and Mac and they both worked with Composer 10

Can you please send an image showing the issue

Real time render, or normal render, no Clay.. The only difference is when I set to Clay and Real Time render, the ground plain turns clay..

We found out what the issue is.. Glass and Gem textures are not supported in Clay render.. Metal, plastic, ceramics, clothe etc are.. Not sure if every texture is, other than glass and gems..

You are right we do not include transparent and glass materials in Clay conversion as they pass light and they affect the light in the scene.

You can change this easily by dropping gray material on top of the tree.

Real Time Render works fine, but its not possible to render from the Render Image, even though its a Render Image setting..
